Our Story
The Bendigo Youth Choir was founded in 1984 by Mrs Valerie Broad OAM.
A not for profit organisation, supported by expert music staff who volunteer their time in developing the singing skills of young people, and their life skills in general.
Since 1984, over 1,000 members of the choir have benefited from expert tutelage and in return have provided performances throughout Bendigo, Victoria, Australia and internationally.
The Bendigo Youth Choir is a well respected and international standard choir located in regional Australia.
Many of their performances are in Bendigo. They have been the lead performers at the annual Bendigo Carols by Candlelight concert, contributed to ANZAC Day services, performed at civic citizenship ceremonies, and performed in many of the retirement, aged care and disability facilities in the region, which brings great joy to the residents and the choir alike.
Gabriel Macura is a former chorister with BYC. Check out the link to see just a snippet of her musical career. timesnewsgroup.com.au/bendigotimes/news/local-artist-profile-gabriel-macura/?fbclid=IwAR3S3Bd541ZCYPLm9y8x0dFbCzYtFtt_swV-tojMBz0t4eoxnAhPhsufqxo&mibextid=Zxz2cZ
