Our Story
The Bendigo Youth Choir was founded in 1984 by its current Artistic Director, Mrs Valerie Broad OAM. It is a not-for-profit organisation, supported by expert music staff who volunteer their time in developing the singing skills of young people, and their life skills in general.
Since 1984 in excess of 1,000 members of the choir have benefited from this expert tutelage and in return have provided performances throughout Bendigo, Victoria, Australia and internationally. The Bendigo Youth Choir is a well respected and international standard choir located in regional Australia.
Many of their performances are in Bendigo. They have been the lead performers at the annual Rotary Club of Bendigo Carols by Candlelight concert, contributed to ANZAC Day services, performed at civic citizenship ceremonies, and performed in many of the retirement and aged care facilities in the region, which brings great joy to the residents and the choir alike.
The Choir holds DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) and TCC (Tax Charity Concession) status with the Australian Taxation Office. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Our Creed:
Vide ut quod ore cantas, corde credis, et quod corde credis, operibus comprobes
Take heed that what you sing with your mouths, you believe in your hearts, and what you believe in your hearts, you show forth in your works.
